A friend mentioned something the other day that I must readily agree with. How can America continuously badger other nations about not have fair elections or elections that do not show the will of the people when we have our own large and long-drawn out series of The most recent and obvious case of today would be Minnesota's election of their senator. How often have we basically pressured other countries to have elections, then hounded them to have the results quickly.
The American government often cries with the excuse that it wants equal rights for all and for all to have fair representation-in other countries but how about in its own nation? If we are that focused on fair and speedy representation of the people how in the world have we let it take over half a year for Alan Franken to gain the Minnesota senator's chair? This is an embarrassingly long time to have an election draw out. I am just glad that is now over, though its not like we have a still growing pile of problems in other areas we need to fix.
